1932 to 1934 with the Kent Regiment Bugle Band. 1935 Joined the Kent Regiment Signals.

Enlisted with the Kents but transferred to another unit before D-Day and remained with them until time of discharge. Earned the C.V.S.M. with Clasp, Defence Medal, 1939 to 1945 Star and the France and Germany Star.
