Mr. and Mrs. Abray received the following news about their son in October 1916:

2nd October, 1916.

Pte. John W. Abray, No. 124323, was injuried on 30 Sept. receiving gun shot wounds in finger and is in No.3 Stationary Hospital, Colougne, France.

John was serving with the 18th Bn. Of the CEF.
