A single glass maker living on Walpole Island. Attestation: 20/03/1916 at Walpole Island to 149th Bn.

Complexion: Dark, Hair: Brown, Eyes: Brown. Distinctive marks: Tattoo right forearm “True Love”, Tattoo left forearm “Girl”.

Served in France (with the 47th Battalion). Entitled to wear one gold wound stripe due to injury.
April 4, 1917 – Arrived in England on the S.S. Lapland from Halifax. April 20, 1917 – Taken on strength from Canada with the 25th Battalion at Bramshott

April 20, 1917 – Taken on strength from Canada with the 25th Battalion at Bramshott. March 8, 1918 – Struck off strength from the 161st Battalion to the 47th Overseas at Witley.  March 29, 1918 – Awarded the “Good Conduct” badge in the field at Witley.

April 30, 1918 – Gunshot wound to the left thigh. May 5, 1918 – Taken to the Royal Vic Netley Hospital for a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

May 13, 1918 – Taken on strength 47th Battalion at Witley

Earnings: $15.00 per month assigned to Elizabeth Day.

Discharge information:
Prior to discharge, he was in the Granville Canadian Special Hospital for an injury (June 6, 1918).  He was prescribed “rest” for his gunshot injury.

November 21, 1918, he was officially discharged in London, ON, for being “medically unfit for service”.  He was observed to have a gunshot wound in his left thigh.
