Born in Winnipeg. Don enlisted in the RCAF at an early age as a AC2. He worked on communications as a wireless Engineer Mechanic while serving in Newfoundland and Labrador, which counts as “overseas service”. His RCAF experience equipped him for his life after the war when he owned and operated “Banfield T.V. Services” in Blenheim, ON.

Discharged 1945

Don had three children with Jean Margarert the children Grant, Howie and Barb (Young). Don was predeceased by his second wife Mary (nee Malina). Don was active in his community as the Governor of the Sertoma Club in Blenheim. Don was living in Eireau at the time of his death.

Don passed away 3 November, 2011.
