Unit # 2nd Kent Regt., Veteran Guard - Ottawa

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Barrett of 197 King St. West, Chatham.  The brother of Herman, Morris, Ambrose, Doreen and Anna. The husband of Thelma Ruth (nee Lett), the father of Gail and Glenda.

It was reported in the CDN 17/01/44(P) that he had arrived overseas with the RCOC.

Also served in the Veteran Guard in Ottawa. The DT 25/02/43 reported that Pte. Barrett with the Veteran Guard was home visiting with his family. Cpl. Barrett was stationed at the National Defence Headquarters, Ottawa with the Veteran Guard when he was granted a furlough to visit his family in Dresden. DT 5/08/43

Ernest passed away in 1965 and is buried in Maple leaf Cemetery – Chatham, ON.
