Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). The son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bechard of  324 Murray St., Wallaceburg, and brother Cpl. Albert and Rosaire. Brother-in law of Gordon Moore. His wife and son Charles were living in Wallaceburg.

Alfred was reported to be stationed at Woodstock when he was granted a weekend leave to visit his sick mother in St. Joseph Hospital in Chatham, ON. WN 7/08/41

The Wallaceburg News (date unknown) was serving with the RCAMC (Service No. A62133) somewhere in France. The WN 8/01/42 reported that Pte. Bechard had returned to the 15th Field Ambulance RCAMC, stationed at Sussex NB. He had been on leave at his wife’s parent’s home in Wallaceburg.  The WN 23/03/44, reported that Murray was on active service.
