The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bird of Port Alma, Kent Co. ON. The brother of Ellwood, Elmer, Maurice, Morris, Max, Bernice and Nettie.

Served as a cook with the R.C.N.V.R. in Windsor, ON. The MS Joe Bird was in the RCNVR along with Harvey.   Served aboard HMCS  Prince Robert, escorting troops to Hong Kong at the end of the war. CDN 9/08/45(P).

Harvey volunteered for service in the Pacific. CDN 9/08/45(P)
