Served in the United States one year and three months.  Served overseas two years and three months in Europe. Promoted from Private to Tech. Sergeant. Was awarded the Unit Badge and one oak leaf cluster. European, Africa Midland Service Medal  with eight Bronze battle Stars, Good conduct  medal, Air Medal with two oak leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart. Was wounded in Germany and convalesced in Hospital in France for several weeks.

Discharged October 9th, 1945.
