He was in the Active Militia – Div. Cycle Depot also with the Corp of Guides. He was a Lieut. with the Division Cycle Company. A civil Engineer.

Attestation: 5/01/16 at Toronto, ON. He sailed for England 18/01/1915.   

Noted at Queen Alexander Military Hospital he was a patient  for Syphilis 14/05/16 to 29/05/16. He was advised upon his discharge from hospital  to ”Use mercury to be continued by the patient where ever he may be for weekly injections.” Subsequent blood tests were Negative. 

Lieut. Boyd was serving with the RFC (Royal Flying Corps) No.42 Station. On 4/02/17 he was dangerously wounded a result of multiple GSW. He had joined the RFC 14/11/16. He was reported DOW 4/02/17. 

Besides his mother and father it was noted that T. L. Church, then Mayor of Toronto was to be informed. 

His father received the Plaque & Scroll of Remembrance 1/02/1921 and the Cross of Sacrifice to his mother 24/08/21 age of 27 years.
