The son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Brill of 28 Huron St., S., Wallaceburg. Arnold was born in Holland and his family immigrated twenty-five years prior to his service to Wallaceburg. Arnold attended Central Public School prior to being hired at the Canada and Dominion Sugar Co., in Wallaceburg. He married and had two young daughters, Rachel and Shirley Ann, residing at Nelson St., in Wallaceburg. He was a member of the Knox Presbyterian Church.

Arnold enlisted for ‘active service’ 8 January, 1941. He received his basic training at BTC No.12 in Chatham, as well as other camps. He was serving with the Argyle and Southern Highlanders in France when he was wounded.

His wife was notified that he had received a “severe wound in one of his legs”. The nature of the wound was not disclosed at that time. WN (date unknown).
