A – CSM.  Next of kin Mrs. Thomas I. Britton of 57 Barthe St.,  Chatham.  ( His father served in WWI going overseas with the 186tb Batt. He had two brothers Ernest with the 91st and William with the 4th CMR.). Gordon had four brothers in service: Oliver and Edward RCAF, Russell in the “Texas Rangers” in the US Army, and Ray who was with the Second Kents.

Gordon enlisted in the Kent Regiment. On 16 July of 1942, Gordon’s mother Frances Alvina passed away. Gordon was stationed at New Westminister at this time.  His brother Oliver was in the RCAF. Roy, Ray and Gerald were still at home.

The CDN 13/05/43 (P) reported that Sgt. Britton was visiting his father in Chatham.

He was reported to have returned from overseas on board the S. S. “New Amsterdam” as part of the contingent of RCR. CDN 25/09/45, 26/09/45.
