Telephone Mechanic. Member of Territorials R.H.A. for 3 years. Attestation: 24/10/1914 at Chatham, ON. Age: 21 years, 8 Months, Height: 5’ 6 1/2/”, Girth: 36 ½”, Complexion: Fair. Eyes: Blue, Hair: Light, Weight 164 #. Mole on front of right thigh. Reported Medical “Fit”, at Chatham, ON. 24/10/14 

Joined with the 15th Batt. – 4th Cdn. Reserve Batt taken on with the 18th Batt. Disembarked in France at Boulogne 15/09/15. Appointed Acting Lance Sgt. (Field) and served with the same rank 22/05/16. He was granted an 8 day leave returned 2/06/16. 17/06/16 Shrapnel Wound to his left hand 

His “Wound in France was at the “The Bluff near Ypers, shrapnel to his left hand, injuring joints, metacarpal resulting in the amputation of his index finger at the base of his hand.  

Wounded 10/06/16 at Ypres, sent to Dressing Station. Then to a Rest Camp for four days. Transferred to No.13 Stationary Hospital at Boulugane for an operation to remove pieces of metah from his hand. He was then transferred to Leicester for 6 week and from there to Ramsgate 18/09/16 to 26/10/16. 

Reported as a wounded Sergeant in the CDP 10/11/1916

Was promoted to Lieut. 6/08/18. 10/09/18 arrived from England after his injury to his hand. He was taken on strength to the 18th Cdn. Batt. as a reinforcement. 14/09/18 arrived at Can. Corp and joined that 18th Batt. 21/09/18 in the fieldIt was reported KIA 15/10/18 but it was really 10/10/18.

War Service Gratuity went to his wife Fanny Cash, as his wife she received the Memorial Cross and the Plaque and Scroll.
