Joseph enlisted in Sept. 1940 at London, ON. Balance of time served as N.C.O. in charge of Transport in Chatham at #12 C, I.S.T.C. Promoted to the rank of C.Q.M.S. and received the C.V.S.M. and the Canadian Efficiency Decoration.

He was discharged from the army in 1946. CDN 2/01/46.
