At the Semi-Annual Meeting of Council of the Ontario Collage of Pharmacy, November 1911. L. W. Davis DAVIS, Chatham, Ontario., made application for registration. He had provided the Registrar with statutory declarations and necessary proofs of educational qualifications. (Canadian Druggist Vol. 23 (11) 1911, pg. 804.

  1. W. Davis, Chatham, Ontario won the first prize for the best collection of botany specimens sublittens to the Ontario College of Pharmacy (0.C.P.) The collection was described by Professor Pal Scott as the neatest and best mounted specimens that had ever been presented in the competition. (Retal Druggist of Canada, Vol. 2 (2). February 1915, pg. 32

I suspect but do not know, that Lemuel’s registration with O.C.P. in 1911was the start of his pharmacy training. It could have meant that he was beginning his studies or perhaps beginning to work as a drug clerk or assistant prior to starting his studies. I also suspect that his botany prize was won while he was a student. His name does not appear with graduates of O.C.P. in 1915 and sadly I do not have access to journals from 1916 – 1918. I suspect that he graduated from O.C.P. in 1916, 1917 or 1918
