DOAN, Chester J

 

 

Of Blenheim, ON., the son of Cecil and Genevieve Doan; brother of Clayton, husband of Bridget Doan.

Appears on the “Muster Roll” of the 2nd Bn., Kent Regiment, (MG), N.P.A.N. (date unknown). Transferred to the Perth Regt. R.C.I.C as a  Private, Service No: A/55153.

Mrs. Leonard Reid of R.R.1, Croton was notified that her son Chester Doan had died of wounds while serving in the Italian battlefront.

Chester had gone overseas in 1941 and was serving with the Perth Regt. of the Eighth British Army of the Central Mediterranean Force. Chester had two brothers in the Canadian army Pte. G. Doan and Tpr. C. Doan. 

At the time of his death Chester was serving in 2 Section, 10 Platoon, B Company. CVWM & Perth master roll, W. Siddle. It was not reported in the BNT 11/10/44 that  Clayton was reported WIA [should be Chester] he would die of his wounds. 

 

Age: 22 years. DOW –  Date of Death: 03/10/1944, in Italy.
