Apparent Age: 27 yrs., Height: 5’ 8”, Girth: 38 ½ “, Complexion: Fair, Eyes: Blue, Hair: Light Brown. – Scar at right angle of lower jaw, Scar – about middle of left ramus of the lower jaw, Scar on right side of the throat above the larynx. “Fit” 21/03/16 at Sombra, ON to 149th CEF. MEDICALLY UNFIT.
John came down with Tonsillitis 21/11 to 1/12/16. He was found to be deaf in his right ear making him unqualified for infantry duty. It was suggested by the Medical Board that he might be fit for a construction battalion. He was ruled “Medically Unfit” and was honourably discharged 13/03/1917.
