Private H. Ellis enlisted in 33rd Battalion at Stratford 1915 and after training a short while in Canada proceeded to England with a draft, then in England he transferred to 4th Battalion and went to France with them and served until 1916 when he was found to be unfit and was sent to England and then to Canada.

Discharged as medically unfit 1916.
