Son of RQM. Jack Ellis and Mrs Ellis then living at 80 Murray St. later of Landsdowne Ave., Chatham, ON.  Brother of Sgt. Charles Henry and Cpl. Thomas Frederick.

In June of 1942 Jack was completing a training course in the Signals Corps at Fort Mamouth, New Jersey, USA.   Cpl. Ellis was reported stationed at Drew Field, Florida was home to see his parents. CDN 10/02/44.

He was reported visiting his parents en route to Camp Haun, in California. CDN 6/06/45

Arrived back in Chatham after serving in the Pacific theatre for more that a year on 28 November, 1945    .CDN 30/11/45(P).
