Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Fletcher of Tilbury.

In 1942 Archie was married 15/04/1940 and was stationed at Rivers, Manitoba. The brother of John also in the RCAF were reported home on a Christmas furlough in 1941. Archie was transferred from Rivers, MN. He moved to Aylmer, ON., after his leave at home. While at RCAF Alymer Archie married, he and his wife visited his parents in Chatham in September of 1942. CDN 2/09/42  Archie was on leave from RCAF-Alymer in October of 1942. CDN 6/10/42. 

 By March of 1943 F/O Fletcher and his wife and baby were visiting Archie’s parents on a 14 day leaveTT 25/03/43. Archie and family were visiting his parents again 9/04/42 still stationed at Aylmer. TT 9/04/42. In September of 1943 Archie was stationed at Crumlin Airport on the instructional staff, when he and his family were given a weekend pass to visit his family.

It was reported in the CDN 2/11/44 that Flt. Lieut. Archie Fletcher stationed at RCAF-Crumlin. Archie’s wife and two children were spending a month in Tilbury.

Flt. Lieut. Fletcher of 28 Victoria Ave., Chatham, ON., was reported returning to Canada aboard the troopship Britannic, expected to arrive at Quebec City, on the 14th of August, 1945. CDN 10/08/45..
