The youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Foster of Wallaceburg, ON. The husband of Pearl (nee Mudryk). Later living in Detroit, Michigan.  

The WN 15/11/45 reported that Lieut. Foster who had severed in the US Army for four years, 18 months was spent overseas in the European theatre. He completed his basic training at Fort Sill, Oaklahoma, and officers training at Camp Robertson and Camp Hood. He shipped overseas from Camp Meade, Md.

He was decorated with a Purple Heart for wounds he received in Germany 31 March, 1945. He also was awarded the Bronze Star for outstanding merit in France when “as company executive officer, he under took the responsibility of re-supplying the military platoon under extreme difficulties”.  In his 18 months overseas he saw action in England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany.
