Eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Goodeve formerly of Chatham, then living in London, ON. In April of 1942 they were at the Headley Apartments, North London.    

It was reported in April of 1942 that Eleanor had completed training at Old Havergal and was about to be posted to S.F.T.S. Camp Borden ON.

Previous Military Experience: Canadian Red Cross Corps one and a half years.

History After Enlistment: Trained in Toronto from February to April 1942. It was reported in April of 1942 that Eleanor had completed training at Old Havergal and was about to be posted to S.F.T.S. Camp Borden ON. Posted to Toronto May to June 1942 Posted to Rockcliffe, June 1942 to January 1943.

The CDN 9/04/43 reported the Haldane was serving overseas with the RCAF(WD) on loan to the RAF stationed at Bomber Command in the North of England. She is the only member of the Women’s Division in a British establishment of the British W. A. A. F. She was very glad to receive a gift of lipstick and nail polish from a London friend. It was used to beautify a W.A.A.F bride at her wedding. 

The CDN 10/02/43 reported had recently arrived overseas with the RCAF. She was to be heard on Saturday evening at seven o’clock in a program broadcast over station C.B.L. The CDN 22/02/43.(P)  Cpl. Goodeve was reported overseas.  

Posted to overseas duty and served in the United Kingdom from January 1943 to September 1944.

The CDN 23/09/44 reported that Sgt. Goodeve had returned to Canada after 20 months in England and was staying at her parents home in London, ON.

Sgt. Haldane was reported to have spent a couple of days with her grandmother Mrs, Robert Gray of William St., Chatham. She returned to her duties in London with the RCAF(WD). CDN 23/12/44.

Date of Discharge: January 22nd 1945.
