The son of Mr. Percy and Mrs. Ada (nee Graham, Gray of Glenwood, Merlin, Kent Co., ON. The brother of Erva (Smith) and Jack.  The CDN 17/03/43 ‘Glenwood’ reported that he was a weekend guest at his home. 

George enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the minesweeper HMCS Boniface on convoy duty in the North Atlantic. He was discharged in 1945

While in Halifax he met and finally married Bernadette (nee Bunny) and they married in Stevenson, ON. They had four children: Diane, Mary Ann, Michelle and Barry.
