Unit # 1st Battalion Kent Regt.

Born in 1910, the only son of Mr. Hugh and Rose Greenwood of Wallaceburg, he had a brother born in 1906. The Wallaceburg News 17/07/41 reported he was spending a week with his parents.   

The CDN 21/03/42 reported that Lieut Greenwood married Aleath Charlotte (Hogg) in the officers mess at Chippewa Barracks, Chatham. Officiated by Rev. Captain Robertson padre of the First Kent Regt. and the bride was given in marriage by Lt. Col. T. E. Codlin. After the ceremony and dinner the couple left on their honeymoon to Niagara Falls.  Aleath would pass away in January 1973 and Rolf remarried Patricia (Lees).

The WN 29/04/43 reported that Lieut Greenwood and wife had arrived home in Wallaceburg after three months in England. After a leave he was to go back to Terrace, BC.

Rolf passed away 3 July, 1988 at the age of 78 years of age. Internment at Riverview Cemetery – Wallaceburg, ON.
