In December 1942 Tpr. Laurie was with the 30th Reconnaissance Bn. stationed at Dundurn, SK. when he was granted a Christmas furlough to visit home. CDN 17/12/43. It was reported in the CDN 30/12/42 that Laughlin along with Troopers W. Robinson and J. Walker were returning to Dundurn SK. after their furlough.
