The son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mark. Prior to the war William was an accountant at the Bank of Montreal in Wallaceburg.

He was reported being shot down over Belgium on 7 February,1945 but he parachuted to safety and reached allied forces two days later. WN 15/03/45.
