The youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGregor of Rover Road, Tupperville, Chatham-Gore Twsp. Kent Co. He attended S.S. No. 14 Chatham Gore Public School and later Wallaceburg High School. 

Harold had enlisted in October of 1942. Prior to his graduation he trained at RCAF-Toronto, Aylmer and Oshawa before Camp Borden. 

The DT 2/12/43 reported that an “enthusiastic gathering was held at the I.O.O.F. Hall in Tupperville to honour Pilot Officer Harold McGregor after graduating with his “Wings Ceremony” at Camp Borden.

The Deputy Reeve of Chatham, Twsp. delivered and address to the young flyer and presented him with a Gladstone Bag (suitcase), Harold thanked everyone for this sendoff and the gift. There was entertainment  and later a lunch supplied by the local ladies.

He was stationed in the British Isles in 1945 when he was promoted from Pilot Officer to Flying Officer.  CDN 10/02/45.
