Of Chatham and Wallaceburg. The son of Fred and Ethel Mills. The brother of L/Cpl. Floyd then serving overseas The husband of Elsie, and Donna (Arnold) the father of Priscilla May, Julien Anthony, Charles, Dudley and Julia (Bechard).  

Charles joined the RCAF in July of 1941 at the age of nineteen “almost 20”. Charles was reported being at the RCAF Thecnical Training school at St.Thomas, ON. He was on a week-end leave to see his mother in Wallaceburg. WN 21/08/41  He was an airframe mechanic first stationed at Mont Joli, Quebec for three years servicing Ferry Battle aircraft. Then stationed in Newfoundland, then an ‘overseas posting’ as it was not part of Canada then.  His first station was at Tor Bay and finally at Gander Bay working on the B-24 Liberator bombers.

The WN 26/08/43 reported that Charles was stationed at RCAF-B & G School in Mont Joli, PQ. along with his wife, she had visited his family the week before.

The WN 27/01/44 reported that LAC Mills was training at No.9 Bombing & Gunnery school at Mont Joli, PQ

Charles passed away Friday, 2 January, 2015. Internment at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg, ON. CDN-Obit 5/01.2015.
