The son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Neil of Stanley Ave., Chatham, ON. In 1945 Donald was stationed at HMCS Peregrine, Halifax, NS. The CDN 13/03/45 reported that Don was on a three-week leave to visit his parents.

Prior to enlistment Donald Neil trained with the 2nd Kent Regiment. Afterwards, he had further training in Canada and served three months at sea in Atlantic Area.
