Private Nicholls enlisted with the First Kent Regiment. He was discharged January 1941 due to Foot trouble. He re-enlisted June 1941 with the 15th Field Ambulance, and served in England.

In February, he was stationed at Wolsely Barracks in London, ON.  He was reported leaving for No. 32 BTC at Peterborough, ON. CDN 11/02/44.

Frederick was reported returning to Camp Borden after a weekend leave spent with Mrs. Nichols of Chatham. CDN. 19/04/44.

Date of Discharge: March 19th 1946
