Private John B. Noah left Camp Borden with the 135th Battalion August 18th, 1916, and embarked for overseas August 24th, 1916. After one month’s training at Witley Camp, England, he proceeded to France with reinforcements for the 60th Battalion was broken up and the Somme engagement the 60th Battalion was broken up and Pte. Noah was transferred to the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles. He received a gunshot wound in the left knee and after hospital treatment was returned to Canada.

Private John B. Noah received his discharge February 4th, 1919, being medically unfit for further military service.
