Age: 24, KIA., Date of Death: 29/08/1942,. Unit Text: 115 (R.A.F.) Sqdn. Flying out of Marham, Norfolk, England. The wellington bomber was shot down near Mannheim, Germany during operations at Saarbrucken, Germany. Beside P/O Pafford were J. A. J. Laidlaw, Sgt. A.F. Ellis (RAF) and E. G. Follett (RAF ) and F Sgt. Joseph Joseph Jemmett were also killed .

A special monument erected in honour of the of the crew in a section of the Principle Cemetery at Mannheim.
