Served as a medical officer in the air force, acting as a liaison officer between the R.A.F. and the R.C.A.F. in the Mediterranean Theatre of War. The plane in which he was a passenger crashed November 21st 1944 and he was seriously hurt. Invalided back to Canada February 1945.
