Captain A. Ross Robertson served with the 109th Regiment, Toronto, as Lieutenant.

Captain A, Ross Robertson went overseas with the 169th Battalion arriving at Liverpool November 5th, 1916. He was stationed at Bramshott Camp until January 25th, 1917, when he was attached to the 5th Reserve Battalion, West Sandling, serving with this Battalion as Adjutant from  March 15th to October 25th, 1917, when he reverted to the rank of Lieutenant. He proceeded to France November 21, 1917, attached to the 20th Battalion. He received gunshot wounds in the right arm March 30th, 1918, and was admitted to the Royal Free Hospital, London, England, going to Witley Camp for further training June 19th, 1918. August 5th, 1918, he was transferred to the Engineers, and was stationed at Seaford. He returned to France Oct 1918 where he served until May 1919 when he returned to Canada having regained his Captaincy.

Demobilized May 31st 1919 and placed on the Reserve of Officers.
