The following letter to Mrs. S. Thibert, mother of Pte. Alexander P. was sent to her from Lieut. A. W. Roy, Royal Canadain Regt. in England as follows:

26 May, 1943.

Dear Mrs. Thibert:

I am taking the liberty of writing a short letter in connection with your son, A. P. Thibert, who is serving in my Platoon, to let you know that he is well and fit and is being well looked after.

I have not been with the Platoon very long and do not know him as well as some of the men with whom I have served before, but I have noticed hat his work is very satisfactory and that he is a good, reliable soldier. His conduct is very good at all times.

The town we are stationed in at present is very pleasant and the people are very kind to us.

If at any time there is anything I can do for you with relation to your son, please do not hesitate to write me.

I will close now by assuring you once again that he is well and as happy as any of us can be until we are once again on Canadian soil.

All best wishes.

A .W. Roy,

Lieut.

Royal Canadian Regiment.
