Born 29/11/1903 at Tupperville, ON. the son of Sidney and Laura (nee Fritz) Tillin. Eldon was schooled at the Tupperville Public School he attended the Dresden High School and the Chatham Collegiate Institute in Chatham, ON. He would attend Queen’s University where he graduated MD. C.M. interning at the Kingston General Hospital and the Flushing Children’s Hospital in New York. From there he would return to Kent County establishing a General Practice in Merlin and later in Wallaceburg, ON. He served as the Public Health Officer for 1937-38, a physician with St. John’s Ambulance 1933 – 36 and Medical Officer with the N.P.A.N. attached to the Kent Regiment prior to the outbreak of war in 1939.

Captain Tiffin served overseas with the RCAMC. Reported returned from overseas service attending a Wallaceburg Kinsmen ‘Welcome Home’ dinner CDN. 24/01/45.

Married to Eloise (nee O’Flynn) and they had the following children: Arlyn Joan, Terrence Allen, Richard Eldon, James Warren Douglas, Mary Gaye, Susan Margaret, Patricia Anne Jennifer. Mrs. Tiffin would pass away in 1957.  He remarried Bernice Madelline Haley in 1958 in Lambeth, ON.

 

Dr. Tiffin passed away in February 1963 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg, ON.
