The youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ward of Tilbury was reported at RCAF Headquarters in Windsor, ON. TT 11/03/43. By May of 1943 Walter was training at the RCAF Radio School in Hamilton, ON., when he was given a week-end furlough to visit his parents. TT 6/04/43. Walter had a weekend leave from Hamilton to visit his parents in Tilbury. TT 12/08/43. It was reported in September of 1943 that walter completed his course at the Radio School and had been posted to No.1 Manning Depot, in Toronto awaiting further assignment. TT9/09/43.
The CDN 3/02/44 reported that LAC Ward was returning to Newfoundland after a week’s visit with his mother.
