The DN 18/07/45 reported that Flying Officer McNeill had been promoted to Flt. Lieut, Prior to the war John was a lawyer and left his office to enlist in the RCAF. At the time of his promotion Flt.-Lieut. was stationed in Ceylon. He planned to return to his law practice in Dresden.

John G. McNeill passed away 30 October, 1976.
