The WJ (date unknown) was training at No. 12 BTC – Chatham. In June of 1942
The WJ 5/06/41 reported that Pte. Mooney spent a two week leave with relatives. The WJ 10/07/41 reported he spent a couple of days in the village. In June of 1942 Pte. Mooney was reported on a two week furlough from the 1st Kents then in New Westminister, BC. His wife had been in Hopewell Hospital, Leamington after undergoing a serious operation. CDN 3/06/42. Carson was reported home on leave in September, there was no reference to his wife’s condition. CDN 21/09/42.
C.L. as we knew him at the Wheatley Legion was severely injured in Normandy and after recovery, returned to Canada.
