 A member of the First Contingent. It was expended after his service since 1914. He had been wounded by shrapnel at Ypres on 22nd. April 1915 loosing the lost of his left eye. He was also again wounded severely with a machine gun bullet in the knee.

“Referring to the ‘Hun’  attack they did not place any value on the value of the lives of their men”

 Wounded at Vimy Ridge where he was again wounded severely with a machine gun bullet in the knee. Pte. Pelkey stated that the Germans “place any value on the lives of their men” 

He was reported married and has a two daughter. Pte. Pelkey resided at the corner of Gran and Taylor Ave., Chatham. He had married in June of 1915 and had a two year old daughter. He was residing at the corner of Grand and Taylor Ave. in Chatham.
