Born in 1898. The son of Harry and Mary (Thompson) Penfound. The husband of Bernice (nee Deighton); the father of  Sharon (Young), Janice (Schalt), Mona (Lews), Gwen (Kerslake and Douglas).

Discharged March 1946.

John passed away 9 November, 1992 at the age of 94 years.
