Resident Thamesville

The CDN 19/10/44 reported that 38 year-old airman of the Moravian Indian Reserve in Kent County arrived home from overseas. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Peters, his wife and family along with the Thamesville Fire Brigade, Reeve Clare Skinner his council to welcome Homer back from the war. Pilot Officer at Thamesville station. Mr. Stuart Spence, Indian Agent escorted him home. Homer was well known as a baseball player before his enlistment in the RCAF.  

Peters was the “tail-end Charlie” on 38 missions over Germany to his credit. He was reticent to talk about his experiences, which included plenty of action on bombing missions.
