The only son of Harry and Sarah Amelia Thatcher, of, Charing Cross, Ontario, Born 1921.

The Minister of National Defence deeply regrets to inform you that Pte. William Thomas Thatcher has been officially reported killed in action July 8. If any further information available, it will be forwarded as soon as received. 

William went overseas three years last May with the Lorne Scots of Hamilton and later transferred to the Highland Light infantry. He was a former News carrier boy. CDN 20/07/44(P) 

Age: 22; KIA – Date of Death: 08/07/1944, in France.
