Previous Military Experience… None

The son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Webber of 178 Thames St., Chatham, ON. The brother of Norman also in the RCAF,  a wireless operator overseas in January 1942.

Alfred enlisted in the RCAF in February, 1941 as a wireless airgunner (WAG), trained at Brandon and Yorktown, SK., Calgary and Defoe, AB. Before going overseas in February 1942 he was an instructor at the wireless school in Montreal, PQ.

History After Enlistment… Served three years overseas as a wireless operator.

The CDN 3/03/43(P) Reported that LAC Webber had arrived safely overseas. He enlisted in London, ON. in 1941 and received his training at Brandon, Yorktown, Calgary and Defoe. He acted as an instructor in Montreal, PQ. He was a wireless gunner but he reverted to the ranks of WOG in order to get overseas. 

The CDN 15/09/43(P) reported Alfred enlisted in at the age of 18 years old 28 August, 1942 the RCAF in February, 1941 as a wireless air-gunner (WAG), trained at Lachine, PQ, Moncton NB., Truro NS., Quebec City, Mont Joli PQ.  He was reported to be overseas in Sept. 1943,.  Brandon and Yorktown, SK., Calgary and Defoe, AB. Before going overseas in February 1942 he was an instructor at the wireless school in Montreal, PQ. 

The CDN 12/12/45(P), reported that Alfred was expected to arrive in Halifax aboard the S.S. Queen Elizabeth the next Friday.

Date of Discharge… March 6th 1946
