Private E. C. Wheeler enlisted in 18th Battalion March 5th 1915 and sailed for England 15th April 1915, and after a short training went to France Sept 9th 1915. April 17th 1917 he was invalided to England with trench fever and after convalescence joined 4th Res Battalion at Bramshott where he served until Oct 1919 being successively to Corp. Sergeant and Q.M.S. and detained there on demobilizing duty.

Quarter-Master-Sergeant Wheeler was discharged at London Oct 10th 1919 due to demobilization.
