Rank Flt. Sgt., Pilot Officer

The son of Rev. and Mrs. W. A. Williams and brother of Enid of, Vellata, ON. enlisted in the RCAF. TT 30/10/41  and was reported home from Toronto on a Christmas furlough in January 1942. TT 1/01/42.

Ivor was reported being home on a 21-day leave in February 1943 from being stationed in Newfoundland. TT18/02/43. In October of 1943 Flt Sgt. Williams was promoted to Pilot Officer, he had spent nine months in Newfoundland.  He was reported to be stationed at Dartmouth, NS. and was married to Dulcie Williamson the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Williamson of Tilbury. TT 21/10/43.

 

The Merlin Standard 6/01/44 reported that Flying Officer Williams returned home after a year served in England and France. It was an attack of pneumonia which he contracted while in France in August of 1944. He had been in France since D-Day.

After two weeks at home he returned to Ottawa for his next posting.  

His older brother PO. Maldwyn Williams had been MIA since May 1941 following operations over enemy territory. 

The MS 6/01/44 Reported that Ivor and his wife of Nova Scotia spent New Years with his family.
