Private Joseph Grant Wilson trained with the 24th Kent Regiment, Chatham, for one year.

Private Joseph Grant Wilson received promotion to the rank of Sergeant with the 91st Battalion; was transferred, as Sergeant, to the 186th Kent Battalion, and left for overseas March 26th, 1917. While training at Bramshott he reverted to Private in May 1917; proceeded to France December 7th, 1917, to the 1st Canadian Infantry Battalion, and served until November 11th 1918, when he formed part of the Army of Occupation in Germany. Relieved January 10th 1919, he moved to Belgium, thence to England, and embarked for Canada April 29th, 1919, arriving at Halifax May 7th, 1919.

Private Joseph Grant Wilson received his discharge May 9th, 1919, due to demobilization.
