24th Regiment, Chatham                                                                  3rd C. M. R.’s  South Africa                                                       Armstrong Infantry Company, Armstrong B.C.

‘Casions’ CDP: 10/02/1919. Born in Chatham, enlisted in the 24th Bn. – Trained at Valcartier 26/09/14.

Enlisted with 103rd Calgary Rifles on August 10th, 1914. Sent to Valcartier August 30th and transferred to 10th Battalion. Left for England in October. Sent to Hospital while in England and rejoined unit April 15th 1915. Saw active Service with Battalion until November 1916. Was then attached to the staff of the A.P.M. of the 1st Canadian Division for traffic control duty. Left France for England December 1st 1918.

Pte. Wilson after four years service at the fronts had arrived at his home to spend time at Mr. and Mrs. LeslieEnglish and relatives in the city. Pte. Wilson who was on traffic patrol duty  was wounded several times during his long periods of service, but each time was to resume his same duties which he thought the entire periods of the war.

He was well known in this part of the country and his friends. He was pleased to be back in Chatham and Kent. 

Was awarded Mons Star and ribbon. Was wounded three times, once seriously. Is entitled to South African medal but has not received it to date.

Discharged medically unfit March 8th, 1919.
