He was a member of the Kent regiment and volunteered for active service in December of 1939. After serving in Toronto and Camp Borden he returned to the First Kent Regt. when it mobilized in the summer of 1940. He had recently volunteered for overseas service. The CDN reported that Sgt. Wood was overseas.
