Reid, John Justin

Private John Justin Reid went overseas in February 1918, training with the 8th Reserve Battalion at Witley Camp until September 1918, when he crossed to France drafted to the 78th Battalion. He was gassed September 30th, 1918, Receiving treatment at High Barnet Hospital, London, N, England.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Reid. The CDN 11/01/45(P) reported that George married Eola Lorraine Miller of Highland Michigan. His bride was residing with her mother for the duration of the war. Served as a medical officer in the air force, acting as a liaison officer between the R.A.F. and the R.C.A.F. in the Mediterranean Theatre of War. The plane in which he was a passenger crashed November 21st 1944 and he was seriously hurt. Invalided back to Canada February 1945. Date of Discharge: November 1946
