Married to Mary and were living in Wallaceburg and Chatham (wife). The father of Garnet 11 yrs., Harold 8 yrs. , Kenneth 6yrs, Gilbert 4 yrs, and Jean 1 month. His father: Alexander Badgley, Dresden, ON. Can. , Mother: Emma of Dresden. 27/09/16.   A farm labourer.

Age 33 yrs. 2 mths. Height: 5’ 11 ½”, Girth 40” Complexion: Medium, Eyes: Hazel , Hair: Brown; Weight 178#. Medical exam : “Fit” 3/01/16 at Chatham, ON. Had a scar on right leg – below Right Knee.      Attestation: 3/01/1916 to 91st Bn. at St. Thomas. Transferred to 186th Bn. and finally to 18th Bn. Appears on the Dresden cenotaph. Is listed in the Wigney book C.E.F. Honour Roll. Discharge Certificate: 91st Bn. at St. Thomas. 3/01/16 Served in France with the 18th Bn.   

While at Camp Borden 13/09/16 – Routine training. 6/03/17 he was before the Medical Board for Tonsilites 27/ 08/16 and 17/09/16. The Trench Fever came back 3/12/17. Vad 3/12/17 to 19/12/17/ 24/01/18 he had his Tonsillitis removed.

Embarked from Canada at Halifax, NS. 25/03/17 aboard the S.S. Lapland. Demarked, England – Liverpool 7/04/17. Trans to 4th Bn. proceeded overseas to 18th Bn. S.O.S 4TH Res. 28/08/17 Nominal Roll Estaples.  12/10/18 Joined the 18TH Batt. 14/03/19. Proceeded to England – WOR. Proceeded O/S – 18th Bn 

Reported Sick 18/11/17 from wound in his Right Leg 18/11/17. He was also come down with “Trench Foot 23/11/17 to Trench Fever. 21/12/17.      

Henry suffered a Bayonet wound to his Right leg and was hospitalized 24/01/18. He was classified Medically Unfit for Service. GSW to Rt. Foreman – posted to hospital 7/10/18 to 18/12/1918 along with his Discharge – “Having been found medically unfit for service (91 days). He was admitted to the Southern GH – Bristol 8/04/18 and Bearwood 18/06/18. 

Invalided to Canada 24/09/18. !7/03/1919 Att. for return to Canada. 8/05/19 SOS to Canada sailed 20/08/19 CEF. Discharged 9/02/19.

 Died 13/12/1921 ‘endocarditis’.   

CVWM: reported Pte. Harry BADGLEY died 13/12/1921, Age 39 years. Enlistment 3/01/1916 at Chatham, ON. Husband of Marry Badgley of Chatham, 18th Batt. Buried in the Dresden Cemetery, ON.
